Privacy Policy

How Plico processes data and handles your privacy.

Last updated: May 2026.

1. Overview

This policy describes the data processing practices for the Plico website (“Site”) and mobile application for iOS and Android (“Application”). The Data Controller is represented by the Plico developers, reachable at the contact details provided in the “Contact” section. Our goal is to minimise data collection and ensure full transparency.

2. What We Don’t Do

  • No accounts: We do not manage user accounts, registrations, or logins.
  • No profiling: We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, or behavioural profiling purposes.
  • No trackers: We do not embed third-party advertising trackers.
  • No selling: We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties.

3. Mobile Application (iOS/Android)

The Plico application is designed according to the privacy by design principle:

  • Local Processing: All PDF files are processed exclusively on your device. No document is ever sent to our servers or to third parties.

  • Distribution: The Application is distributed via the App Store (Apple) and Google Play Store. These services may collect data about installation and usage in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

4. Website (Hosting and Logs)

The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit the pages, GitHub may process technical data typical of server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and date/time) to ensure the security and stability of the service. This processing is governed by GitHub’s privacy policy.

5. Preferences and Cookies

  • Session Storage: To remember the language selected from the menu, the Site saves a temporary value in your browser’s session storage (plico_lang_manual). This value is not sent to us and is removed when the session ends.
  • Cookies: This Site does not use profiling or third-party cookies. Technical cookies may be used solely for the purpose of delivering the web service.

The processing of the limited technical data involved is based on the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in providing a secure and functioning service. Under the GDPR, you have the right to request information about the data being processed or to object to its processing by contacting us, although the anonymous and local nature of our services means the personal data we hold is minimal or absent.

Pages may contain links to external sites, whose privacy policies are their sole responsibility. We may update this policy from time to time to reflect legal or technical changes; the “Last updated” date will indicate the most recent version.

8. Contact
